President Putin has approved the accesion to the WHO Framework Convention

Today, April 25, 2008 President Putin has signed the Federal Law "On accesion of the Russian Federation to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control". This law was approved by the State Duma on the 11th of April and by Council of Federation on the 16th of April.

The accesion to the Framework Convention will require changing of several federal laws, including laws "On Advertising", "On Restricition of Tobacco Smoking" and Administrative Delinquencies Code.
